YOUR ACTIONS CAN HELP SLOW THE SPREAD OF COVID-19
WEAR YOUR MASK
COVID-19 spreads through the respiratory droplets we expel when we cough, sneeze, and even breathe. Wearing a face mask helps prevent you from spreading those droplets to other people. Even if you don’t think you’re sick, you could be contagious. So, everyone needs to wear a mask when they’re around people who are not members of their household.
Washing your hands is one of the simplest and most effective ways to protect yourself from COVID-19. Always wash your hands after you cough or sneeze. And after you’ve been in a public place, avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth until you can sanitize your hands.
STAY SOCIALLY DISTANT
COVID-19 is more likely to spread when we’re in close contact with other people. Staying about six feet apart helps reduce the risk of spreading the virus. In public and in private, you should always maintain six feet of distance from people who are not members of your household.
Many recent COVID-19 cases spread at social gatherings, especially personal gatherings like weddings, birthdays, and parties. In private, people are less likely to be careful and take precautions. That’s why the safest course of action is to avoid gatherings with people we don’t live with, even if they’re close friends or family.
